I thought about it, Wayne. Your photos I can use as a shot Nature to see things I never seen. And make something inspired by your photos. Dead buildings and farms it's a something amazing. Something I prefer more than things of life. Because I'm think that old and dying very well underline the power of life. Fragility of humanity. The time of his presence here.

That makes it even more awesome. I was hoping it was in Canada. I've never been there but wanna go some day.

WayneBenedet In reply to Phraggle [2015-02-05 01:57:26 +0000 UTC]

well you would not have to go very far into canada to see most of the pictures in my gallery.  Less than 30 miles would probably do it for most of them.

Phraggle In reply to WayneBenedet [2015-02-06 00:02:51 +0000 UTC]

Awesome. Most of the experiences I've had with Canadian prairies & stuff comes from watching Corner Gas.

WayneBenedet In reply to Phraggle [2015-02-06 04:36:54 +0000 UTC]

lol... that is a great show... unfortunately the way it depicts Canadian Prairie life is far fromwhat most of us really experience.  But it is still a fun show to watch eh!!!   (sorry... I could not help myself)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phraggle In reply to WayneBenedet [2015-02-06 23:55:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I sorta figured it wasn't the most accurate depiction of prairie life, but still funny. Actually, to me, Corner Gas is probably the best show I've ever seen. They don't say " eh " much in that show... or at all... eh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WayneBenedet In reply to Phraggle [2015-02-07 02:25:08 +0000 UTC]

yes, I have watched most of the episodes.  I could not remember if they used "eh" as I have not seen it in quite some time.  I almost never use it myself, but in this case, I just could not help myself, and it was such a Canadian thing to do

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phraggle In reply to WayneBenedet [2015-02-07 19:21:59 +0000 UTC]

The thing I notice mostly about the accents on Corner Gas is when Brent or Karen pronounces  " against ", " again "  and " been ". They give the vowels the long sound. A few have the " a-boot " thing going on with the word " about " or " out " as well. Canadians still seem to be pretty cool though.

lol.. well you realize of course that English is a funny language.  It is all English, but spoken differently in different countries, and even in different parts of the same country.  Newfoundland English for example, is even hard for us Canadians to understand.

Phraggle In reply to WayneBenedet [2015-02-08 23:59:15 +0000 UTC]

It is quite funny. Guess it just depends on what one is used to hearing.

"If you mow your lawn and find a car... you might be a redneck."
(sorry, couldn't resist)

That's a really awesome shot. Old car slowly becoming a part of nature.

I saw a picture where a bike was embedded in a tree trunk... it had been left chained to the tree, and the tree's trunk consumed it after many years. Maybe that will happen to this car some day, when that tree grows big.

WayneBenedet In reply to LavaLizard [2015-02-04 00:24:09 +0000 UTC]

lol... not very likely.  I just take pictures of old cars, but I do appreciate the humour

I too have come across a few things embedded in trees.  such as this is one   there is also an old car with a huge tree growing out of the roof.

Hi Max,

I find most of my subjects by stumbling across them.  I have been working independently since 2008, and as this is my area of interest, I drive hundreds of miles just looking for old cars houses and what nots.  I also teach photography and processing at out local college, (short term evening stuff) so my students sometimes till me about interesting locations that they know about.

A nice observation...nature in the end will take over...we plunder the earths resources for profit and gain, but only for a while, can you tell me what lens you used, or filters, speed also..LH.

lol... if all the cars that I have photographed were fixed, someone would need a fortune and own a car lot.  But I agree, it would be nice to see some of them on the road again.

I mean those cars could been from 1900s or the 1800s.
