What you wrote in the description is very meaningful, and very powerful.
I also like the colors in the picture, they are very bold, and also hold a very powerful image.
nice work!

thank you Krissi,
Just keep heading those creative voices and you will become confident in your abilities. The gift is there, you just need to allow it to develop.

thanks Zlata,
I learned a few more photoshop techniques on my last trip, and they seem to be making a big difference.

thank you Livia for your comments.
Indeed i am aware that creativity is a gift, and unless cared for, can be damaged.....at least for myself it is that way.
I will visit your gallery in the next few days. I have been away, but I will catch up.

did you like the books Ashlee?
did yo know that Robert Jordan, the author died last year with one book still unfinished?

I love the books! One of our local cops turned me on to them, and I'm hooked. I'm on book 6 right now. I knew he was dying, but I didn't find out until about a month ago that he actually passed away. I was talking to a woman who works at the book store and she told me that Robert Jordan had hired another good author to finish up the very last book. I can't imagine how anyone could tie up all the loose ends in just one book, but I'm looking forward to reading it!

thanks,
my younest son is my link to the books. I got him hooked many years ago, and now he keeps me up to date. I have known also for a while that another author has been contracted to write the last book, and perhaps it will work, but I doubt that it will be anything like Jordans brilliance.

I doubt it, too! I didn't think I would like the books when I first picked one up, but he really knew how to draw you into it. Many times I'll look up from the book at work to a customer who I didn't even know was there! haha They are almost as addictive as the Dark Tower books. I'm almost not wanting to read them so fast now that the end is coming so close.

I wish I could say something arty and intellectual about why I love this photo, but this one hits me viscerally and I want to be there, to see it this way, as you saw it, and to study it for a while. Intellect is satisfied but not prominent in my attraction to this photo. Ancestral memory, perhaps, if there is such a thing? My ancestors immigrated into Pennsylvania and immediately headed for the Blue Ridge Mountains. They settled there (both my father's ancestors as well as my mother's) because they loved mountains, space, green, and the land. This photo speaks to me of all of that.

I know how you feel Alicia, sometimes I just wish I could say anything at all that is intellectual.
This cabin is located on the edge of a valley. Out where I live there are no hills, just valleys. The picture spoke to me, because it reminded me of a series of books my son and I have been reading for almost 15 years. Unfortunately, the author died last fall with the final book still unfinished. The series is called "The Wheel of Time". Daniel is still hopeful that the last book will be finished. I am not sure.
I really appreciate hearing how and why the image had an impact on you. It is not often that someone tells me that. Art, as I see it, allows others into my head and allows them to see in some ways, how I see things. Your comment turns that around for me, and allows me to see into your head, your experience and your history. I like that.
Thank you for giving me this gift.

Thanks for your kind response! My feeling is that most people will respond to this photo emotionally, and we all bring to it something personal and different! That's the beauty of it.

that is so true, and that is one of the things I like about this community, that people actually have an opportunity to say to one another, how they were affected.
Not every one does of course, but when it happens, it is special.
