It good to see the old "they're out to get me" Red Alert again, instead of the new medic one

Hate to sound negative here but...
IMO, the hatred between Skyfire and Starscream because of the way each felt betrayed by the other was one of the greatest moments in the cartoon continuity. I hate to see you go all fangril on that and pervert it into some freaky romance.
Don't get me wrong, I like what you do, but I think you seem a bit hypocritical making fun of fangirls while at the same time pulling this stunt.

You make it sound like this is some kind of bombshell I've suddenly dropped, catching all by surprise with its randomness.
I'm not sure. It'd be hypocritical if the gag was picking on enemyshipping or the tendancy of how any two characters with any sort of past must be dating. "You have some fangirl tendancies, therefore you may never make fun of any fangirl stereotypes," seems a bit stretchy. Particularly since I'll pick on my own fangirl traits as well ( Exhibit A being that "I'm not your bish" Terrorsaur picture, Exhibit B being any "'Shippers are silly" cartoon I've done. )
And, when it comes down to it, I thought that the lost friendship between Skyfire and Starscream due to the gulf of time and change was one of the greatest moments in the cartoon continuity. I doubt the way I play it is how it really was, such as 'reality' can be defined, but I find it enjoyable to write it that way. Comes down to preferences, I suppose. I have the same reaction to "Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are codependant and do nothing but play pranks and get shouted at by Prowl and Ratchet" as you do to "Starscream and Skyfire are dating."
Except the 'freaky' part. I'm rather at sea on how it's 'freaky'. It's not like anyone's wearing a zipper mask or anything.

No, this is just something I felt since you brought Jetfire in, but Jetfire's corny out of character dialogue here really finally made me feel the need to speak up.
I really dislike the tendency of fangirls to pair up any two or three characters that so much as had some sort of dynamic in the cartoon. (Jazz x Prowl drawing the most ire from me). I don't think SKyfire and Starscream ever had any sort of romantic dynamic. They were fellow scientists and maybe best friends. Why do people want to see something into that that isn't there?

A bit corny I'll grant, but I wouldn't say it's out of character. I tend to lean towards the way he was in Fire in the Sky - a person out of time. As far as Skyfire's memory goes, it was just yesterday that he was an exploration scientist, zipping around the cosmos with Starscream. Now he's told that Cybertron has been torn apart by war and everyone he's ever known is dead except for his partner, who is the second-in-command of the faction dedicated to conquest and destruction. I don't think anyone could just shrug and accept that. ( He did in the cartoon, yes, but that always rubbed me the wrong way. The change was just too fast. Fire in the Sky he's lost, Fire on the Mountain and suddenly he's the space cowboy. )
Why do people want to see something into that that isn't there? - What it comes down to is, "Because people find it fun." And sometimes because they honestly do see something there, whether others do or not.
Whilst I dislike the tendancy of fanboys to think that only hatred and rage are the only emotions worth having. Moderation in all things, I suppose.

I don't think the change was sudden. All though FitS, Skyfire wondered if he was on the right side or not. By the end of the episode, he realized who the good guys were and attacked Megatron. Starscream tried to KILL HIM, cementing his place with the Autobots.
