Description There are no stupid questions, just snarky answers. One day, someone will write a jetgirl who is not like this ( yeah, yeah, cue all'a you with your, "But my OC is different!" To which I say, "Quite possibly. I do exaggerate a lot." )

We all know the thing where a warrior babe will refuse to hook up with a guy unless he can defeat her in battle, which you can read as either, "She don't want no weakling slowing her down," or, "The woman must always be weaker than the man," depending on the context and your mood. Do lesbian warrior babes also insist their girlfriend must defeat them in battle? What if they both live by the same code? Will one always be unworthy of the other, or can they bend the rules a bit if the loser put up a good fight?

Because at least one person will read this and be all, "OMG is Thrust in love with Starscream!?" and I'll have to be all like, "Dude, everything Thrust says after the first panel is sarcasm," this one's for that person: Dude, everything Thrust says after the first panel is sarcasm.

We don't know who started it, but we call it 'Red Sonja Syndrome' at the Insecticomics main page.

I think it's somewhat different when the warrior babe is a matriarch because then there's the ulterior motive of using the man as a breeding stud, but even there it's on the iffy side

Lawls. My OC girl isn't a jet. Then again, she also appears in animatedverse, where everything is skewed.

"Dripping Sarcasm." I have no idea why that amuses me.

Okay, I'm not getting into this right now except to say that Thrust is hilarious! And Flamewar makes me snigger.

Thrust, the prettiest femme jet I've ever seen...

Thankfully, all the fic writers I stalk don't make their femmes that way... It would get really old real fast.... why is it OC femmes almost always have to be paired with some canon character anyways? Can't they be cool if they're single? I'll be quiet now....... before I start ranting...

So, how long do you think Thrust will stay female? A week? Two? Until he gets bored (please forgive the masculine pronoun )?

More importantly, how long will it take the Bugs to figure out the change and dress him up in Barbie clothes next time he overdoses on Engergon?

Don't the Insecticons do that whenever he overdoses on Energon anyway? And any of the other apartment residents, for that matter? XD

But Thrust already had a crush on Starscream! XD

And I love Flamewar every time she turns up. What canon is she from, anyway?

WaywardInsecticon In reply to GreyDrake [2008-06-02 05:55:24 +0000 UTC]

Thrust said she could see why Dreadmoon thinks Starscream's attractive. Not quite the same thing.

Flamewar is from BotCon 2005, so a Beast Wars-ish time period, but on Cybertron.

Also, how did you get that weird little piece out of the bike chick's chest? I've tried pulling it out of the one I have and it won't budge. It makes her look like she's having an alien baby bursting out of her chest.

Which weird piece? Her purple energon star? Sometimes they stick pretty hard, but they just pull off.

Personally, I RPG's I was part of, I usually played out the "only the one who defeats her" stereotype (not neccessarily referring to Red Sonja, but in the generic "badass fantasy warrior-maiden" cliche' - RS didn't invent it, ya know, she just made it more mainstream) as meaning she didn't want to bother giving her affection to someone (male or female was only relevant in each individual story's context) who couldn't stand up for themselves in battle, and what better way than to test their prowess herself? If they can put up a good fight and last a while, then they pass the test - if they defeat her, well, hell, that just makes it that little bit more impressive, now doesn't it?

dvandom In reply to Xeno-the-Hedgehog [2008-06-01 06:50:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I always preferred Belit. She was her own woman, but willing to return from death for you if she really liked you. Red Sonja was just sad.

Xeno-the-Hedgehog In reply to dvandom [2008-06-01 19:41:41 +0000 UTC]

I've never heard of Belit.

This is one of the reasons I like movies like Alien and Silent Hill; the lead female can actually take care of herself.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dvandom In reply to Xeno-the-Hedgehog [2008-06-01 22:24:22 +0000 UTC]

Belit really just had one story in the source material, but had a bigger role in the Marvel comic. She was a river pirate queen.

The "return from the dead" trick Valeria pulled in the first Ahnuld Conan movie was basically lifted from Belit's story.

Loved Thrust's whole sarcastic ramble.
