My brother was babysitting three kittens for the night, so of course I went over to see them, because I am a complete and total idiot for cats. Turned out they're three of ten that had been found by my brother's co-workers and they were trying to find homes for them. I called home to see if Knave would let me bring home a kitten. Knave said I can try. Because there is the 'Nim, and Baby Hates Other Cats.But 'Nim liked my parents' cats fine and maybe he'd be okay with a kitten. So I would bring the kitten home for the night to test. If 'Nim got upset, I could give the kitten back to my brother the next day. Thus, kitten came home in my pocket. No, for reals, I joke about stuffing my pockets with kittens all the time but I had no other way to carry him. He just curled up and napped.
'Nim is not entirely thrilled, but he is accepting ( which is about how Knave is.
) Thus, he is now stuck with a little brother.Kitten has been dubbed Makatae-Gauzhuk, which has doomed him to being the Mak in the same way that Animkee-Gauzhuk is always the 'Nim. He weighs a little less than a pound and I can cover his whole back with my hand. Seems to be about four or five weeks old - technically too young to adopt but there wasn't a lot of choice here.

LOL, soooo cute. Poor Nim looks like he's ready to commit homicide in all your pictures though, LOL. Are you reading "Warriors"? If not, I think you would love it, especially since in a way being named "Thunder cat" and "shadow cat" you kitties are almost named after two clans.

'Nim just doesn't like having his picture taken, so he tends to look annoyed. They're named after an 80's cartoon show and an X-Man.

Yeah I have noticed black cats seem to be a bit moodier than most other colorations, but that could just be a coincidence so far, LOL. Oh, duh, Shadowcat! (slaps forehead) I didn't get it at first, boy do I feel stupid.

BITTY!!!
Six years ago my partner brought home 2 three-week-old bitties he found in a garbage pile.
At least at 5 weeks they're eating solid food...and actually at 5 weeks, they're still "baby" enough that Nim should take to him as a "junior." My Nocturne puts up with our two "kittens" a lot better than she puts up with Smokey Wayne, who came home as a fully grown adult--in her head the kittens are her minions, whereas Smokey is the dirty hobo who snuck into our house when her guard was down

Looks so cute! ^_^ I'm a fan of cats too though I own none... real ones (I barely can take care of myself to be taking care of another living creature!

Aww, he looks so adorable. I've been trying to convince the rest of the family to get a kitten, but have the same problem with our cat and her not being very friendly with other cats. Plus we have two cats already so it's just the prospect of kitten-ness that compells me.

I wish I could bring a kitten home, if to give my cat Shadow a companion. However, considering Shadow is nearly blind and getting up there in age, it's probably not the best thing for her now.

He's adorable. Too young to adopt for sure, but you didn't have a choice, and with plenty of affection and kitten chow he should grow up all right.
(Currently I've got two kittens, they've been here about a week and are learning to share space with my three-year-old. Yeah yeah, little kids and cats no go together, save the lectures. A stray dropped a litter on my mom, so somebody had to give 'em a home.)

Back in high school, I decided to learn Ojibway as an Independant Project For No Purpose ( why Ojibway? Why not? Local tribe, can't just go take a class, had to do my own research. Why project? Why not? Anyone who actually knows the language out there, I am aware my orthography is hopelessly out of date. ) And all I use it for these days is naming my cats after cartoon characters - Thunder-Cat and Shadow-Cat*. If I hada white one, he'd have been called Gon-Gauzhuk - Snow-Cat.
*Technically, 'Black-Cat'. I can't find my lexicon folder so I fudged it.

Somehow I'm reminded of the time someone came to Fandemonium (our local sci-fi/anime convention) with a box of free kittens. It was rather weird and adorable seeing these people in medieval armor, anime costumes, etc. walking around cuddling these tiny kittens and hiding them in robe sleeves or pockets...

I have such bad luck with kittens, I can't even hear one mew without being tore up inside. Such innocent little souls. I'm glad that kitten has a good home!
It's true, I'm almost phobic of kitten sounds, after what happened. If someone is giving kittens away in front of work I have to go in through the back.
