It looks like he has a "You got a problem, buddy?" expression on his face. And the hand is easily ignored. But why the belt? Wouldn't the shoulder-gun holder work better? Or a regular tool belt/apron?

Rattrap looks delightfully snarky here. Mayhaps he's about to pull an epic prank on Dinobot? Or Megs? Or both? I think I'm gonna go hide under the command center dashboard and avoid the rush. XD

I agree, his head does look to small. Maybe it's because he's got a really long neck?
Good design for him though, but I'd like to see a height comparison between him and one of the others. I'm also interested in what this so-called rat poncho looks like.

I don't know way, but it looks like hes ready to fight a mummy. Or I could jest me, most likely im jest over excited for the new mummy movie coming out. I can still see him doing it though.
Rattrap:'I'm a expert at getting rid of mummys'
Dinobot:'you've only gotten rid of one mummy'
Rattrap:'the same one Twice'
I can see them saying that, it my favorite quote in the trailer.

Bwah. Fear the rat-poncho. How's that garter-belt of a toolbox going to work? Won't having the belts tight enough to keep the thing on restrict his leg movement rather?

The 'Crushersuit had leg-belts like that to keep the treads on, and I didn't have a problem with them.

I recall you saying they kept slipping off ... I mean, thigh muscles flex and move. How does a leg-belt stay on?

WaywardInsecticon In reply to Koilungfish [2008-07-21 17:45:15 +0000 UTC]
The one side was slipping off because it wasn't tight enough or high enough. Also because the tread part would get knocked into whenever I bent my leg too far, which added to the loosening bit.
( Maybe he has invisible rat-garters. )

Ah, right. Still have my suspicions, viz, why else do people use backpacks and not thighpacks?
[Scary mental image. Perhaps he borrowed them from Crazy Uncle Frankenfurter?]

Poking around, it seems that the proper thigh-holster is attached to the belt, which carries the weight. The thigh-bands are just to secure the holster to the leg and stop it from flapping around. Seems to be plenty on the various ups and downs of such here: [link]
[And of course "Moreover, anyone who has had to run for his life with a thigh holster on knows it wobbles and wiggles all over the place - not ideal for drawing quickly on the run." feels so very relevant.]

Ah, Internet, full of information. I can just sling the thing onto his back or belt easily enough. ( I shall miss you, invisible rat-garters, for you were fun to say! )

Well, attach it to his belt to take the weight so it doesn't end up sliding down around his ankles when he runs, anyhow. That, and his gun's a bit bigger than most one-handed sidearms that usually go in hip or thigh holsters ...
... wait a moment. How tall is OV Rattrap anyhow? Because if he's not-much-less-than a foot shorter than OV Dinobot, and OV Dinobot is over 6"4, then OV Rattrap's *taller* than he was as a robot.
[Invisible rat garters ... well, Crazy Uncle Frankenfurter's will *was* pretty weird. You just got to wonder who he bequeathed #6 to.]

I think it was from the Transmetals game ( 'course TM-Rattrap is taller than Original Recipe Rattrap anyway. ) Possibly Blackarachnia and Quickstrike stayed the same height ( I've got them both at 5'2" ) but everyone else got shorter to some degree.
( He wouldn't have loved Jetstorm. But Quickstrikes feet are enormous! And are just as big backwards as forwards! )

Yeah, he was one of the ones who stretched a bit.
Hopefully that will sort out their pesky height difference, bleh.
[But in absolute sizes, Quickstrike's feet aren't nearly as big as Megatron's ... :: pokes "Cutting Edge:: ... I lie. Quickstrike's feet are longer toe-to-heel than TM Megatron's. #6 will ... attempt unmentionable acts and probably get shot for it]

I've got Rattrap at 5'0". I've heard anywhere from 5'0" to 6'0" for his robot-mode.
( #6 would have loved Quickstrike ... )

I've got no idea where the 6'0" comes from. I've always heard him as being 5'0" in robot mode [at last, someone is shorter than me!]. So he stayed the same height. Hmm. Interesting contrast in terms of perspective adjustment, I'm sure.
[#6 would have loved everyone. I don't think it's fussy]
