~Just-Jake and I were having a chat about movies the other day and traded some pretty old ones to compare taste where both animation and storytelling was concerned (plus, they were titles that aren’t that well known). One of my old favorites ever since I was six was the film “Starchaser: Legend of Orin”. Some would call it a “Star Wars” rip off with a mix of “Titan AE” concepts, although Titan AE would be more a rip since it’s WAY after Starchaser, but the point is, is that not many know of this awesome story.

The film Jake offered in return, equally unknown to many was “Wizards” it’s quite bizarre in both animation and storytelling, but was very enjoyable because it was so wacky and different from your normal wizards and elves story. The warrior elf, Weahawk, especially caught my attention because as far as most elves go, he’s just ugly. Actually, come to think of it, all the elves in this film are ugly. But the range of expressions was very captivating. You know they are the good guys, but they all look twisted and evil and not so elf-like.

So at work, I drew him up. the left sketch is surprisingly a very accurate drawing of him in the style of the movie, the only mistake is that he doesn’t have a belt (what do you expect, I drew it from memory alone after watching the film 3 days ago). The one on the right is a redo in my style. I don’t know which I like better. They both suite his character
