Well she WAS pregnant
She is carrying her egg sack in your photo
I think two or three weeks later her babies will be born 
Last year i have found a female with her egg sack as well in our garden:

Her babies might even have babies of their own by now it was a long time ago i took this. I was quite proud of it at the time though it looks to blurry to me now lol

And maybe you can watch them mate if you have much luck.
the male will give her a "gift" before they mate

I wouldn't know where to look! I suppose where i found this one would be a start! though it was in a field at college and if i turned up there they might find it a bit odd xD

It is pretty easy to find them
They love stinging nettle fields in the vicinity of water.
Sometimes you can find them in your garden as well, but you have more chances to find them on meodows, stinging nettle fields and such
And sometimes you can check wooden fences, because when it is warm and sunny the young spiders like to take a nice sun bath
