Description Basically we were doing a photoshoot and he was meant to do a little rear trick on command, and a gust of wind went underneath him and he stood right up like this :')

He came back down fine, and it was pretty fun xD

Hahaha I didn't mean for him to go up so high. Because we had him so well trained you could control the exact height and length of the rear, But this was one that wasn't quite right haha.

Had that same thing happen to me though none of it was on command my mare likes to stand on her hind legs and have been caught while she does it without a helmet more then once why I now ride her everytime in one lol

Haha well usually I ride with a helmet all the time, but this was a miniature 'Photoshoot' and I was gonna try how his rearing was before my friend got on with a big dress and stuff. haha

Cool shoot! Did u not get scared? x`D
Is it hard to learn a horse do this on a command?

Thanks! Not really! I am used to him rearing high, but this is the first time he got put off balance. He has amazing power to hold at any height, but that gust of wind was nasty!

Depends on the horse
Always teach from the ground first though!

Not wearing a helmet
Great job staying on & keeping your stirrups, though! I have a horrible habit of losing my stirrups all the time, so I usually just ride without them...

I usually do, We were doing a photoshoot, for Demo photos.
I'm going out to people's stables to do them a 'Fun Modeling' session with their horse, so I needed practice and I just wanted some photos of me xD
But we ended up doing Monty's Trick and this happened. Usually he is fine but stupid wind put him off balance.

I am the same with tack (I don't lose it LOL). When I can't be bothered to tack up, I just grab a leadrope (There is always one in his stable xD) and jump on as he is

I know, but you never fully live if you play it safe all the time

Yeah I know, I ride with a helmet usually anyway. Just one rear for the photoshoot, and that was it for me haha

Thanks! I had lots of training, seeing as he is a trick horse I can make him go wherever I want in his rears, so if something unpredictable (Like the wind :') ) happened, I would be at least a little bit prepared xD

WB-Equine-Art In reply to horsesrule813 [2012-07-26 19:32:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha I don't really have a bond with him actually, I just trust him I guess. I don't just say I have a bond with any horse I have/ride, if that makes sense
