For the first question, I've been using makegirls.moe to generate various designs, and just doing that has been a huge inspiration for me. I'm not a natural character designer, so I always worried my designs were either derivative or uninspired. By generating random characters, I've been able to see lots of different possibilities for hairstyles and features. That really sparked my imagination to create more characters. That was also the reason why I made a couple journals about the website- I think it's a useful page and that people should try it out (whether they are artists or not).

For the second question, I just need to get more work done. I feel like I haven't been making enough progress, and I'd like to complete more pieces. Once I feel more comfortable with my ability to get things done, I'll add more practice of the basics in, as well as larger pictures. It's just that for now, I need to get pictures drawn- simple is fine.
