"Maelstrom" Mobile Air defense battery. ( gravitic)

Multiple heavy autocannon( electromagnetic coil gun based) turret equipped heavy grav vehicle designed for perimeter defense of vital facilities and division strength forces.

Uses a combination of active and passive radar and Radiation seeking sensors to detect and engage fighters, gunships, and small craft either horizon-to-horizon or over the horizon when linked into a long-range radar/fire control network.

Guns can fire either proximity smart fused explosives or armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot rounds. It also has a set of short-range air defense/anti-vehicle missiles in vertical launchers for self-defense.Able to inflict even heavily protect landing craft, orbit-to-surface strike craft and small starships the guns are optimized to fire at extreme rates of fire, saturating the target with multiple rounds to overwhelm active defenses, and ensure a hit in a very short period in time.

the vehicle itself is set u to house its crew, communications and fire direction technicians, and act as a command center for lighter anti aircraft systems. the hull is well protected by armor, electronic warfare systems, and a dedicated electronic countermeasures, and counter counter measures electronics.
