*Both are associated with light/good colors yet both are villians (in Gai's case) or Anti-Villains (in Ironwood's case).
*Both have/had a master plan involving a satellite (The Ark for Gai and Amity Arena for Ironwood).
*Both have a straight-laced right hand woman. (Yua Yaiba for Gai, and Winter Schnee for Ironwood)
*And both use more simplistic yet effective fighting styles compared to the other characters in their series. (Aside from the powers he's copied through the Thousand Jacker, Gai has no special powers as Thouser and relies on his sheer strength. And while we haven't seen his semblence yet, Ironwood mostly relies on his revolvers and melee combat).
