Description The Makola nickel mine in Nivala, Finland was active in the 1940´s and the -50's. Since then the open pit has been filled with water for decades. The water is now frozen and some fresh snow covers the ice.

Such a delicate sight behind the trees.

A beautiful view.
Also a great example of how nature can heal itself if given the chance.
The trees work splendidly as a foreground and give direction.
The light and the fog and the snow create a serene atmosphere.

Thanks. Lately I've liked this low contrast + certain tone combination.

The 12-24mm Nikkor truely brings out the details.
