Description
The Makola nickel mine in Nivala, Finland was active in the 1940´s and the -50's. Since then the open pit has been filled with water for decades. The water is now frozen and some fresh snow covers the ice.Such a delicate sight behind the trees.

Also a great example of how nature can heal itself if given the chance.
The trees work splendidly as a foreground and give direction.
