Cool, I thought this was a concept painting at first, just cuz of how the lighting and colours are. And you can see part of that empty swan boat landing too! I dunno why but I always found that spot a little eerie

Maybe because the spot is so quiet. The park can be packed, but you can just go down to the boat landing and feel alone! There are a few spots like that at WDW, where it is a way to get away from the over-stimulation of the rest of the park and crowds!

That's true. It is quiet and definitely away from everyone. To me it was an empty space I kept seeing every time I was there, and even when I was little I knew it had been meant to be used as something. It was only recently that I found it what it was for. Then there's the fact that it looks exactly the same. I dunno why but that makes for an eerie place for me. i cant say I've ever used the space

Maybe one of these days, when they get Fantasyland finished, Disney will get around to making use of the space. It is like wasted space as it is now.

I never got a chance to go to River Country. And now it is wasted space. Such a shame. I suppose with the economy the way it is we all have to happy Disney is spending the money on Fantasyland, updating the queue for the Haunted Mansion and doing the "guests pictures" hologram on the castle some nights.
I checked the prices of the resorts and all of them have had price increases. It just makes it that much harder to save for a trip! I have a good travel agent who specializes in Disney vacations, and she gets the best possible deals, but still we need several thousand dollars for a 10-night trip!

Ironically River Country was the only water park I was ever at. I'd love to check out the other two. And yeah, I heard Disney's had to jack up their prices. Isnt a one day ticket like $75 now?

Some outrageous price like that! In a time when people are scrapping money together just to buy groceries and gas, you would think Disney would cut the public some slack!
I like Typhoon Lagoon the best, just because of the waves that gush out for a 1/2 hour each hour in the wave pool... then there is the river float. Blizzard Beach has caused me a few issues and I would just rather not go there again.....

It is. Worth the price of ticket just to use it! I can only take about three hours at most in a water park, so I get the biggest bang for my buck at Typhoon Lagoon. I have to use a heavy sunscreen, and I get nauseous easily, but I do best at that park. A wonderful way to spend a morning or late afternoon. I have quite a few pictures but only have a few posted. I think Tina on =Disney-Stock may have a lot more posted. Totally worth your time!
