"Don't stray too far, my pet."Lord Bearengarius is not actually a NITE Bear. He is a Benefactor, who had his brain case installed in a modified NB chassis. Having notice the rash of maids, volunteering to become the Bellnecks of bears, after Nomoko granted them the right to take custody of maids, the former Type II Benefactor sought to take advantage of this trend.
Bearengarius soon caught the attention of Phantom, an interstellar industrialist, so obsessed with advanced alien technology, that, like Bearengarius, she technologically augmented herself, to become a gynoid, almost as advanced as FMP's own Type IV Benefactress.
In Bearengarius, Phantom saw a way to enter the halls of Benefactor power, and attain technology for her own interests. Toward this end, she offered herself up as a Retainer Maid for the faux bear.
When she is not being shown off at Singularity Day bashes, the industrious robot girl is facilitating Bearengarius' rise to power by "mmmphing" at all the right times to lead him to making all the right political decisions.
To this day Bearengarius believes he is responsible for his escalating good fortune.
