Description
Pine tree perfume wafts through the house,
The tinsel on the tree glistens in the light.
A seat by the fire, warming me through.
The snow falls outside, softly landing on the ground.

The table laden with food,
Carols echo throughout the house,
A time spent with family,
Gifts given, and recieved, smiles made
The buzz of Christmas hangs in the air...
....in my dreams.

In my reality....

There's a plastic tree, smaller than i am,
A strand of tinsel woven through it's thin branches.
My seat by the window provides a bleak view of the mush covered street,
The snow too wet to play in.

The table is small, just a sandwich to eat.
My soft singing the only noise.
No family, my mothers at work,
Just one gift, from myself to me,
The Chistmas spirit is no longer here.
