Gwen stared wide-eyed and pale faced as her daughter held up her newest drawing. Her coffee mug slipped from her fingers, crashing to the floor, as Gwen got to her knees and grabbed Nancy's shoulder."Nancy," She breathed softly, fear lacing her voice, as her daughter lightly let her head tilt to the side. "Honey... Why did you draw this?"
Freddy. There was no doubt in her mind who the picture was for and of. Gwen's lower lip trembled, as Nancy gave a small smile. "So I could give it to my friend, Mr. Fweddy!" She chirped, causing Gwen to let out a shudder.
Freddy... Was dead. She had seen it. Heard it. Been apart of it, god dammit! It's been a year now, and Nancy was still... Still drawing pictures for him! "Dont you like it mama?" She asked, as Gwen took the picture with shaky hands, rising to her feet as she gave a lopsided, weak, smile.
"I love it, honey... I'm sure Mr. Freddy will to... I-I'll go put this with your other ones, OK?" Nancy gave a soft nod, before turning from her mother to run upstairs to her room.
Upstairs, Nancy slowly opened her door and peeked into her room. A large, gleeful, smile appeared on her face, as she ran inside, the door closing behind her, as she ran up to the familiar red and green figure.
"Mr. Freddy!" Nancy squeeled, as she was lifted into the air, a look of awe on her face as Freddy smiled darkly, yet calmly, at the six-year-old. He had lost his voice. Day by day he was fading away. He was able to cling to the fresh memories of himself from her mind.
But the older she got, the more days that ticked by, the faster he faded. The less chance's he had to be with his Nancy. His Nancy was forgetting him. No matter how many pictures she drew of him, they were becoming less and less like him.
He was fading.
Nancy smiled down, as she lightly touched the side of his burnt skull, not even flinching at the fading feel of his burnt skin. His Nancy was never afraid of him.
She was his Nancy. And no matter how long it took, he would find her again. That was a promise.
Meh... I don't really like my short story for this one, but it just kind of came to me and I dont wanna waist the idea
Man! I need to stop! After posting all my finished up Freddy/Nancy pics, I go and get straight to work on this... It only took me half an hour!!! That's it! I need a break

I wouldn't call it romantic. It's not like a love thing. It was more like a "cute" - and I use the word cute very loosly because I can't think of a better word right now - moment between them. It's suppose to be disturbing more than anything.

Well let's see... I think Freddy can be romantic but it's not the kind of romantic that everyone would praise over. His idea of romance is like getting your teeth pulled after eating too much candy - Sweet but a pain in the ass - if that makes sense. Now do I find Freddy attractive... Somewhat. Mostly because of Robert Englund and Jackie Earle Haley playing him. They're both appealing in my book so I do find myself somewhat attracted to Freddy but only when thinking of them as the actors playing a character and not the character itself. Again if that makes any sense.

i started to get addicted to freddy kruger awhile back and i saw freddy/nancy pics an at first i was like could like this an then slowly i started to like it and love it and now i think its like the best thing in world and this is just so cute an adorable i totally love it!!!! GO FREDDY/NANCY!!!!

I had this thought awhile back after my second or third time of seeing the remake, and watching the movie Don't Look Under The Bed. The concept of your imaginary friend becoming the boogeyman SOOO fits these two, that I just had to do it!

Imagination/Daydreaming. Its like dreaming, and as a kid, you do it so freely, sometime you dont even realise it. At least thats what I was going for. It might not make sense though... Right?

Daydreaming MIGHT work. It's not as powerful as normal REM sleep. But I can see a child daydreaming about her favourite playmate.

Thats why Freddy is fading. Nancy daydreams and dreams about him at first. But the older she gets, the harder it is for kids to keep daydreaming in a non-stop loop, leaving Freddy thrown in the back of the mind and trapped

It makes sense. I think he should limp more. In the beginning dreams of Kris, Freddy limps and drags his foot. Later, as he gets more strength, he's more actively physical. Also, I don't feel Freddy would hide in a closet. I think she would have him as a constant invisible friend...until she got to old. I think a year would keep him pretty strong and he fades more and more. I think he would follow her until he didn't have a strength to appear anymore and she forgot.

Oh he wasn't in a closet. He was in her room, but he had been following her the whole time. He can pic her up because he's still active in her imagination. To her mom, Freddy is dead and Nancy is now drawing for an imaginary friend of the same name and physical feature.
Freddy is mostly lamenting on the fact that he will fade to the back of her and the other children's minds as they got older... This wasn't one of my best writes, so its pretty thin ground on explanations 
I may go back later and put more explanation into it.

Exactly. Like any other "imaginary friend". Freddy's playing off that, like you said, to survive with Nancy longer. Before he later becomes everyones "Boogeyman" ^^
