============INFO============

Behold, for this is a fearful weapon.

While this rifle is not the embodiment of fear, one can not deny that snipers are the most feared warriors on the battlefield. They stalk around unseen, they lie in wait for days and maybe even weeks, and they can kill a man with a single shot at ranges exceeding 2 kilometers. Extending their effective by another 2 kilometers greatly enhances the fear they spread, as the sound of even the unsuppressed gunshot goes unheard at those ranges.

I actualy started work on this rifle well before the contest began. But since it's a sniper rifle, and a sniper's purpose is also to induce fear, I thought "Why not?" and submitted it.

This rifle and the cartridge that comes with it are both made purely for ultra long ranges and extreme accuracy. And they should live up to that name. I mean, a 450 grain bullet with a staggering BC of 1.5 traveling at 1300 m/s would do 4 kilometers like a 5.56 from an M16 would do 600 meters. Why would you want a rifle with a 2.5 mile kill range? Well, first of all; Because it's possible . Second, the further you are from your target, the harder it is to be found by that target. You can put much more "spots you could be hiding" between you and whatever you're shooting at. Thing is at these ranges, the bullet should take about 6 seconds to reach that 4th kilometer, and a person might decide to step aside after 4 seconds. That, and you have to do a lot of bullet drop compensation.

The scope deserves an explanation to, i think.
It's based off the Zeiss Sniper Auxiliary Module, which is a huge telescopic sight with an integrated ballistics computer. see this one (the Computerized Extended Range Sighting System as the more compact, but more powerful brother (the actual SAM is 6-24 x 72, this one is 5-45 x 60). Their functionality is basically the same (calculate the distance to the target, compensate for the bullet's drop, compensate for cross winds, temperature differences and other factors that might throw your shot off.

As you might have noticed, i used photoshop a lot more on this one. not just the gradients are from there, but also the handle (with which I'm still not content, but this is as good as I could get it), and basically everything that's beneath the barrel. The next one might be completely done that way.
