Chosen aren't known for having long life expectancies. In fact, their only purpose is to die so the people that "choose" them can continue to live. It's very rare for Chosen to last more than a few years.

Nothing. You aren't born Chosen, you're picked. Thus, "Chosen." The necklace is a suppressor that only works on people with Zachary's issue. So it might be better to say that if you're normal you have nothing to worry about.

No. It's a curse, and the charm that stops said curse, his necklace, prevents him from properly shapeshifting. He is of two souls, both of which fight for control and force his body to shift uncontrollably.

Multiple souls, my OC has the same problem, in fact he has two other souls inside him as well as his own soul.
Fortunately my OC is strong enough to control the two other souls and they can only gain control if he allows them to, which isn't very often.
