Ze zijn inderdaad lief en aandoenlijk met hun punk kapseltjes!
Heel typisch dat ze zo ter wereld komen (de waterhoentjes net zo)!
Misschien moet dat vijanden afschrikken!

I'm glad you appreciate the story about the coots.
Yes, coots are common in our area.
We've also got moorhens, they look like coots,
but they have red on their nozzle instead of white (coots).
They have very special feet too. Not like ducks.

I don't think we have that kind of bird here in the Eastern United States, but we do have many Canadian Snow Geese, like this one [link] and this one with his or her parents [link] We also have Mallard ducks, but not as many, at least around my neighborhood.

Thanks!! Male get the food for the baby's and
female accept the food and give it to the baby's!
So funny to see!
I just loved watching them!

The longer you stay there the more they trusted me! They let me come quite close. And the male came out of the water to see what I was doing. I talked to him (about 1 meter distance) and he looked at me as if he understood that I was telling him not to be afraid, that I was just looking and taking pictures. After a while he left for the pond!
In the past I did that with gees too and it worked well!

They sure are, those big cats!
Yesterday there was a program on television about 2 men
who looked after a lion when he was young.
After some time they gave him back to nature again.
One year later they went back to the place where they had
left the lion behind. He was still there, and he recognized
hem. Jumped at them, holding their shoulders for a big hug! He was so
happy to see them again! And a second time they came
back to see him, he was grown up, didn't hug them anymore, but
was very happy to see them again. And he did even show them
his 'wife'. It was so wonderful to see!!

I think you can have that bond with humans and animals als long as you give
each other enough attention and love!
Once I hugged a black panter..... but it was a baby panter!! It had the size of
a huge house cat. Will never forget that!
Hugging a big cat: you'll have to invest in it!!!
What are you studying? What kind of job will you get in the future?
