This is kind of terrifying.
One of my OCs, however, greatly approves of it eating any and all Durants that come near.

My only problem with Heatmor's canon design is its ARMS. Like the fact that it's got these little stick arms that eventually grow to these giant meaty claws annoys me to no end, it's same with Zoroark. XD;

Same here, but for Zoroark it somehow passes with overall apperance of such sleek creature, while Heatmoe overall is pretty massive, ESPECIALLY the paws :Y

I'm always curious how Heatmor can have a fire tongue. Like, it's not breathing fire, it's tongue is literally made of fire that melts things.Β

If you ask me, I see it covered with saliva which is fuel to the fire created with the nostrills.
Since I'm bad with chemistry, I can't tell possible compounds of their saliva, but I know there IS mineral which by compression can produce a spark.
Both Heatmor and Houndoom could burn their saliva containing this mineral by eating them like some animals have gastrolits in their stomach.

but how do they not burn their tongues?

wait, so it has two types of saliva. one oil the other water?

that seems a bit hard to believe, but I think there are some animals with similar contradicting natures to their bodies

Yes, there ARE. Just yesterday I've read about "living rocks" which accumulate in their bodies a high amount of vanadium which is a mystery.
Deep sea creatures got also strange adaptations compared to those animals we commonly know. Reading many articles, books and wildlife documentaries which doesn't make me sceptic about such abilities for living creatures. Evolution doesn't make projects, there are slow mutations which turn out to be beneficial, no matter how strange they are.
For example hagfish and their ability to turn water into slime or something that will make you understand how I can believe in such supernatural things to happen in pokemon: chitons can produce magnetite. Or bombadier beetle?
Maybe I can't find enough of satissfying you examples, but I believe that such things aren't impossible.

wait, Chitin can manufacture a magnetic element? how does that work, that's awesome

I felt in first-sight love with the flame tongue concept done on it. Anteaters are another fascinating animals, they're as bizzare as some prehistoric ones to me, while they're modern ones!
Sadly, the original Pokemon is just ugly....but I don't like original Scrafty too, while it doesn't stops me from loving them x3

Well, the designs are guidelines, I think, and more for animes and not real life... so your version looks amazing!Β
And they are indeed bizzare, the anteaters.

I know they're supposed to be cartoony, maybe with exception for egendaries, but I can see they could make anteater Pokemon in better way for the muzzle.
I think they went with first impression of this animal that having head down or taking serious defence posture it might look grumpy...sigh, it's just that I wish it more with derpy small eyes or even narrow ones to fit with stripes rather than big, grumpy with expression sight.
At last it's an anteater with neat concept, something I really, really appreciate <3

I agree, the eyes are silly... but maaaybe, for some strange reason, the white patches are just that, like on orcas! Doesn#t make much sense, but that's Game Freak... x3
