One of my favorite insects! This one was a custom order.Lethocerus americanus.

They are a good delicacy in my home country too. Making a good aroma for the chili paste and taste like meatless crab.

Ha, this creeped me out when I came upon it in a Google search.
I just saw one of these for the first time today. Never seen anything like it.
It was sitting in a clear puddle on our college campus, probably far from its home in the nearby retaining pond.

One of my favourites too, though we only have Nepa cinerea here but that one's cool too. Not as neat as Ranatra linearis, though.
