Typically in all of my artworks, I have up to 100 layers because I like keeping EVERY different shade of color seperate.

I don't plan on finishing it because, as I have heard from a modern artist, if you "lose" the work, it's not worth finishing.

im not saying that having a lot of layers is unusual and i do agree wif what u say but its just its alot of layers 
well in my opinion if u 'lose' the work then u'll just hav to improvise
