You know, I think it looks great! I love how, whatever it they are moving look like keys. I love the skyline look and I love the grainy look. I'm glad you didn't crop it or anything of the sort because, it makes you think what's on the other side of those building and such! I love it. I also like how there's just enough to see beyond the city but covered at the end where you have to imagine another city or world, or anything. :]
I think it's great, I just think other people are expecting...More perfection, and it's not about being perfect it's just about having something to show something that might not be the best in the world but is still pretty great. <3

don't care about these haters, they just can't accept that their art isn't a DD and yours is.
They think that only inhumanly awesomely talented artists can have DDs, but they need to remember that art is in everything, in every simple moment that is registered, in every imperfection and every effort to make it better. Art is made by humans. People need to remember it.

This is exactly the sort of work that I adore! The execution is fantastic, it strikes me as traditional and the grainy effect and gradient feel at the edges is very fitting. Congratulations on a very well deserved DD!

What people need to understand is that DD does NOT stand for "THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WORK EVER CREATED!!!!!" It means "Daily Deviation" A DD is something chosen to be shared with the entire community of DA, because SOMEONE who makes decisions believes it was either executed well, taken or made in harsh conditions (which this seems it may have been) or something very clever and different. Art work is not chosen for a DD based on perfection or beauty. It's chosen based on SKILL. Which there seems to be plenty in this picture. So get over it. Unless you are one of the people who makes decisions on this site, it's not your place to judge what makes a DD or not.

This is a fantastic piece which is the epitome of urban and rural > industrial photography. I especially love the grittiness and I think you've done a perfect job at capturing the mood. I can't say it better than `Exillior and I 100% agree with the 'real' view to it. It really is beauty in imperfection and that is why I featured it.
If anyone doesn't agree... please direct it to me, rather than post it on the deviation.

You're asking the wrong person. 
From a suggesting point of view, none of the pieces in your gallery are what I would suggest. I actually can't spot much imperfection in your work - certainly none that captures any mood or feeling perfectly. But you could always suggest your work to the relevant GM yourself - FAQ #18: Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen? contains a list of the GMs you need.

I love imperfectness that's well executed. In this situation... if your photo had been completely clear of grain and aesthetically arranged to capture the scene... it wouldn't have captured the feeling of the city. I doubt I am the only one to see this, either, since the Urban & Rural Gallery Moderator featured it, and so far 350 people have faved it.

Some people prefer to build in some grain and overexposure into their shots... 
Now, whether, the exposure and the graininess was the intent of the artist is debatable.

I am the suggester, and actually, it is exactly the grain and the cropping that made me suggest this. I love imperfection, because when well executed, imperfection sets the rhythm to the greatest perfection.
Before you bring that up, too - it is also the over-exposure that made me suggest it. (:

Actually this is exactly what DDs are for. To generate traffic into unseen photos that may deserve the attention. I think it's a great industrial photo with a documentary feel. In fact it also carries a nostalgic mood. It is a good photograph, plain and crude, you should be proud. So congrats for the DD.
