this is really cool, love the angle. My dad lives in East Lansing (he is a proffesor at MSU) and so I think I may have seen this before...

I can't believe I've not taken a look at this photo before. Don't really know how that happened. Anyway...
This isn't a photo that comes right out and grabs you. Like flypaper, it just doesn't let you go. After perhaps ten minutes I've decided I love it. Well, I decided I loved it after maybe two, but ten minutes in I'm still enjoying the perfect tones and simple but compelling nature of it. It's got everything on several levels. Curves, lines, repeating patterns of shape and light. Just wonderful. In some ways it seems almost like a Chinese temple.

The composition is so far reaching, amazing depth!
The clarity is really amazing, setting up such depth with the building and sky,
the tone and saturation is really vivid.
A wonderful capture, assured to be a favorite for any photographer, such perfection.
A wonderful display of perspective, well done.

The texture and shades are incredible and the birds really add to the concept of height. Absolutely incredible...

This struture looks huge. I like the texture on the building and the color. This does have a new perspetive on the structure. It's interesting that you were able to get a good DOF with F/2.8. Very sharp image.

The dof is one advantage of the compact digicams like the CP5000 used for this shot. Of course, it can also be a disadvantage in shots where you want a nice smooth bokeh in the background....

Nice! How do you do it?? Take something simple like that and make it look soo good…
Is it the detail amount, the sharpness, the angle... something else that draws me to this image… so weird... is it not?

At the angle you took this I daresay the "coils" on the building give one an impression of movement. The movement is opposite of that of the migrating birds (which I must say was a good move to wait and include them in the picture). With the pictured movement of two opposing objects it almost gives one a sense of vertigo...I did have to look away to avoid a slight dizzy sensation. The sense of movement highlights the struggle presented in Man Vs. Nature or Nature Vs. Man as however you wish to look upon it. The building represents man and what men create. The birds represent nature. The two objects in this photo are symbols that are pulling or moving away from one another....a migration away from different environments.

Brilliant photo, while the architecture itself is already stunning (helped by a very well chosen angle), the birds flying over it add a new dimension to this. Maybe reminding that our synthetic world is still Earth, and that we aren't the only creatures alive there. Or maybe something less. I don't know.
I just know that I like this.
