That's amazing! I saw it some month ago here on deviantart.
This is really a monster that you have to fear. I wanted to create a fearing monster, too, but I hadn't much ideas. This nine eyed thing inspired me.

I love the sickle on the tail, very nice touch.

Jebus it's amazing. The intricate detail in the wings and scales (and just about everything) is awesome. The colour is reallly cool too, I like how the wings are pale but the body is darker, and the purple highlights to the creature. In comparison, the background seems a bit dull, maybe even something to show the dragon is standing on a surface, like a shadow on the ground, would give a better sense of space.

So how long did it take to do this piece from start to finish? Also do you do it on paper first and then hit the tablet up and retrace the image, scan it, or 100% digital it with the tablet?
Pen to me is a tool in photoshop. really useful but it can be time consuming. I have found that if I scan a pencil in at a high dpi, then after getting it in photoshop reduce the dpi or ppi down it will resample the image making some not so straight lines strait... If you dig through my scraps you can see some of them are done that way i believe... Compared to a vectored black and white, it is obvious (some imprefections in line and natural weight to line width occur often enough to mark it as unique against a pen or vectored version of the same image.

Hey Wen. Always great to see your work. I have one thing to say though. I think you slacked on the wings. I think if you put in that extra time to do the shadow and light and bounce light on every one of those things it would be up to standard. I know you are pressed for time. I just thought I should voice that, since I have so much respect for your work.
