Yay for the King of Lost-Hope! TD is my favourite character in JS&MN, as well as one of my all-time favourite literary characters. Love his expression, it's both one of lost hope , as well as of deviousness. His outfit is also amazing, closer to the XVIIIth century than to the early XIXth, but this just makes him stand out even more amongst the other characters... By the way, are his clothes "the colour of hearbreak"?

Mmmm...Thistledown. Best. Evil Fairy. Ever. I never pictured him so young and handsome, but if I were a vain and all-powerful supernatural meanie, I think I'd be inclined to look more like this than the book's depiction of the same.
Come to think of it, I never really liked the original illustrations all that much.

He looks...very...gentlemanly! I love his hair and the detail on his coat.

The "ghostey" effect of the people in the background makes him stand out and look even more sophisticated.
