Description
I had to do a painting 'influenced by' someone for media exploration tomorrow. I was going to try and paint this all super-tightly rendered, but my format was pretty diminutive. (12"x12") I wish I worked bigger.Anyway, this was influenced by James Jean's work, but obviously took off on its own while I worked on it and is now...yeah I dunno.
I sort of like? I'm not sure how I feel about it - I like some parts but it was more of an experimental painting I guess hahaha
Acrylic + gouache (red, white and black) + white conte + charcoal on Canvas

It's a well balanced composition, and I really enjoy dark images, I don't have nightmares so this is the closest thing.

I like how it is named after my province (Alberta) and it even has what looks like a wild rose (Alberta's provincial flower).
