A rather darned adorable take on a rather compelling research subject. Well done!

Animal testing is a difficult subject.

I know that there are a lot of senseless, stupid tests that have no perceivable benefit and kill off thousands upon thousands of lab rats and other test animals. I'd rather not have a bunch of animals die just so I can have a more cleansing brand of shampoo.

But there is also the problem of medicine. Research is underway to end diseases and disorders like Alzheimer's and even cancer. These diseases don't just kill people, they kill them slowly and horribly. Simulations and limited human testing can't even come close to the depths of knowledge we can acquire with animal testing.

If animal testing can eliminate or even reduce these hideous human diseases at the cost of animal lives, I think it's worth it. I'll admit that there are tests done in the name of 'medicine' that have nothing to do with human well-being, but those are the exception rather than the rule.

I don't know what your project is directed at. If it's directed at unnecessary, wasteful testing, then I agree wholeheartedly. If it's directed at medical testing, then I think you're wrong.

I hope I haven't offended in any way. Your piece of art is well done, and immediately grabs the viewer's attention. The white-on-black setup gives excellent contrast. If your art hadn't been so effective, I wouldn't have felt compelled to comment!

thats exactly my perspective on the issue.
i am going for my PhD in animal behaviour and genetics right now, so i will have to work with genetically modified mice and other species alot.

now if you are worried that they are mistreated alot during such testing, this is not the case in most educational facilities. There have VERY strict rules on how to deal with the animals, and you have to continuously provide evidence that you, or anyone in your lab is not mistreating the animals.

i could go on for hours on this topic, but alas i have an exam i must study for

so to conclude: awesome pic

Its open to your interpretation really, Thanks for the message. I totally agree with what your saying. But yeah, I was just focusing on the fact that animals are used for cosmetics testing, stuff like that.
Thanks again.
