I actually like my job, it's chill most of the time.

However, it also involves regularly cleaning up the lacquering machines with barrels worth of industrial paint thinner.
Removable parts are dunked in paint thinner and scrubbed with brushes and cloth. One of these parts is the scraper : a long double blade that rests on the rubber lacquering rollers, in what is effectively an endless stropping motion. It is SHARP. You have to clean up inbetween the parallels blades with a piece of cloth wrapped around a thin piece of scrap aluminium.

Even with cut proof gloves underneath the heavy nitrile gloves, it gets a little unnerving.
