Gothic apparel and a brooding face
She's too busy trying to keep her charade
Attempting to be seen and heard while saying and doing nothing.
I like her.

Her voice isn't anything special nor the words she speaks
But I find myself listening and absorbing them
Sometimes I feel shocked when I realize she wants me to reply
I'd rather just listen to her.

I showed her a place where I accomplished one dream
In a room all alone with my heart being shown up on stage
She and I discussed things then and she seemed surprised
She always seems surprised to realize that I'm older.

I can predict her reactions and she always does what I want
Except when she turns away to talk to others, be with others
But that's okay too, I do the same all the time
I wonder when she'll notice that when I complain about something she does...
I do it right afterward to see if she'll notice.

So far she hasn't said a word.

The hopeless girl and boy at the table flirted with me
Probably just to get a reaction and it worked
She seemed stunned that others would want me too
So I would laugh and tell stories about my "friends"
The things they've done to me and how I was never in danger
It just sounds as if I was about to be assaulted.

She would listen to every word and would tell people to shut up
Just to catch every syllable I uttered while staring at her intense face
What is wrong with her that she must listen to me?
But I'll admit I was flattered, especially when she turned to me
And said those soft sweet words, claiming that I have an important role
She said it about the play but she also seemed to be speaking about life.

I blew it off and laughed, just as she blows off the similar and laughs
And we never fight each other on making the other accept compliments.
She's just there and I'm just there and she's a little crazy while I'm unstable.
We could last a while, these little fantasies could come true
Especially because I noticed her from the very beginning
And maybe I see through her as well but I wouldn't make such a claim.

She'll be the wolf and I'll be the cricket and we'll have loads of fun.
