Can you see me? (Owl City lyrics that totally worked XD)So this is a really simple illustration, but I really wanted to get off this perspective. Plus, it helped me play with water, with which I'm really happy about!
Contest entry for a summer theme, and I honestly don't expect to place well, since there are some much nicer ones, but I can say I did something!
As for the summer theme, waterfall jumping is something that I actually do in real life, and is something that I thoroughly enjoy when that sun is just a little too hot! The waterfall is based on a real one that I go swimming around all the time.
Zack: Are you sure it's safe?
Kenya: Reasonably, though I've never tried headfirst...

Even though it’s sketchy, I see straight past that and am just captivated by the angle you chose! I wouldn’t be brave enough to try it, it looks like it was quite a challenge!
I’m also expecially fond of the colouring on Zack’s back, even though it’s a little rough it really suits the style of the picture! :3

I'm taking a creative perspective class right now, so I'm really enjoying playing with perspective. It's so much fun with what you can do!
I think it's a harder angle to pull off just because you don't get as much detail or characterization that you might get from other angles.
I loooove animal spines! There is so much fun in the line down their back, I really don't know why, haha.

DUDE! This is WICKED! Oh man that angle man DAT ANGLE. I'm like.... flabbergasted as how badass this is. Their anatomy from above is so SOUND AND DELICIOUS just. omg. I LOVE it! I love how rounded and muscular both Zack and Kenya look! Like.... I really want to try a picture from this angle now xD. I love how Kenya's all curved around like that too. Like, as if the angle alone wasn't badass enough, you went and gave them different POSES. I love how one of Kenya's feet is in the water like that too. Like, you can totally see that they're straddling the rocks without actually seeing it. I LOVE ZACK'S FLOOFY MANE TOO. It's just like BAM POOF. And how he's peering over the edge like that and how you can just see little hints of his muzzle and ears. Plus I have NO idea how you made it look like their hair was standing up.... from above.... like that. I'm just amazed <__<.
SWITCHBACK TOO OH MY GOD. It's like she's waving or reaching up for them something all |8. Plus you TOTALLY got her in character for this. I could totally see her being all OMG YES LET'S GO *jumps and instantly regrets it*. Bonus points for that, man. I LOVE her little pink pawpads and her INCREDIBLY FUZZY LEGS. Man that's how I love her legs! All thick and fluffy and DELICIOUS. Omg. Watch all that legfluff billow around as she plummets to the waters below xD.
PLUS I love that you based this on an actual waterfall you hang out around. I always feel really touched when people make images or backgrounds based on actual things in their actual lives. It really makes it extra special to me

I felt bad because it is a fun angle, but you definitely don't see as much, which can be harder in selling a piece.
I LOVE floofies! They are tons of fun to do, and they really add something to the character.
Switchback was probably my favorite to do, since she totally has that gung ho attitude, and I relate a lot to her!

Haha, thanks! It was for a contest that and are holding at their group, and the other two are their feline characters. It would be out of the story line, kind of just a fun side spot.
