I have been wanting to cosplay for a while now and really had problems as to who/what to cosplay as, then found pokemon gijinkas, my friend (you know who you are ^^) told me about [link] and i loved the idea of the pokemon inspired hoodie. but like most cosplays i died at the price and also i dislike the idea of buying outfits, it takes away all the fun dont ya think? Anywho, ii decided to make this a few months ago, at the begining of january, i just havent got around to uploading a picture/ getting the mannequinn out - though it isnt very good, as its got no head, nor arms and is female, well it is my mums dress making mannequinn so you dont REALLY need thoose things, also i promise it looks better on a real person ^^,also this is my first hoodie i have tried to make - it was made from scratch and without a pattern (well i drew around a hoodie i have) then sewed together ^^, also the yellow bits may look weird as forgot to do them first DUH!
Also my pokemon savvy friends asked me to make them some too, so i have nearly finished - i just need to make some adjustments and hem ^^ a Lugia, Mudkipz and Pikachu hoodie ^^, also as i have LOADS of extra yellow red and brown i may decide to make some hats aswell

How did you get the ears to stay up? I can't get the tail or ears to stay up on it haha. I don't mind the tail laying flat but I'd like the ears to stay up.

Useing wire ~ well I unravelled a wire coathanger and twisted it in there and made it into a kind of head band, but other thick wire would suffice ~

So a headband into the hood? That's what I was thinking of doing. Wire. But I wasn't sure if I should/could put a headband into the hood.

first I would make the ears from fleece or jersey fabric. Then, if you are customising an already made hoodie then I would make slits in the hood where you want the ears, and sew the ears into place ( leaving the ears open to stuff) .
Then either get a head band and wrap wire around it intothe shape of the ears or make a headband out of wire and put into the ears. and then stuff, i would sew a few stiches around the wire/band to keep in place, then if needbe get some more of the ear fabric make a strip and sew around the wire to secure in place firmly, it would be a little messy on the inside. but who is going to see it?
if you were going to make the hoody from scratch (which is really easy) then make the hood shape. which is a big square ewith a rounded edge, and slit diagonally with a large seam allowance, sew the hood and ears intoplace. then do the same process as before but if you've got sufficient fabric there, you can secure it by sewing round it.
im not sure if thats made any sense whatso ever. ~ >.< ^^ . . .

well i dont really know where to get one either ^^, i made it myself. it was fairly easy to make. ^^ if you want anyhelp on to make one or of a similar design just send me a note ^^

umm well i used anti-pill fleece fabric - you should be able to find at a good fabric store, but u found it online - on ebay - they were really quick and as cheap as a shop ^^.
asfor making iit its really easy, just get a hoody that fits . - and if you dont mind binning iit - un pick the seams - if you want to keep it - sellotape paper together so it big enough to cut round the pattern peices (adding about and inch for the seam allowance. then sew the seam . and for the yellow- i was a bit naughty, i put it on after making the whole outfit - so it looks bad >.< but you should back the yellow with some interfacing, if you dont have any it doesnt matter, and just zig zag round the edges - try and do it before you make the arms and stuff, ^^,

im going to a convention this weekend - and i have litterally just made a tail using the same fleece fabric and making a loop at the end so it can slide on and off any belt, took like an hour max.
