So... Merlin and Arthur as kids! They're about 10 years old? I just wanted to draw Arthur in one of those ridiculously puffy, royal ouftits, lol - whatever they're called. Dunno about those actually existing in the early "Arthurian" period of the Medieval Ages, but ehh...Had to add Merlin, too, of course. I've pretty much put him in clothes similar to what he wears on the show, 'cept he's got his red neckerchief carrying his few belongings... Much like in the show, he's just been assigned to serve Arthur, and is listening dubiously as the brat of a spoiled prince lectures him on his duties to the future King of Camelot! XD
Had fun with this cartoonish style again, and hopefully they resemble the actors enough... Would love to hear any thoughts! Oh, and let me know if you're interested in having the line-art to colour yourself! I think this style would suit a colouring book, lol. Imagine having a career in that! Wouldn't be so bad... ^__^
(characters are based upon those in BBC's "Merlin" TV show, a take on the Arthurian legend where Arthur is born a prince and is about the same age as Merlin)

For some reason, this reminded me of the movie "The Prince and the Whipping Boy." It's actually not a bad movie... And this is so amazing! Though I have to say, Arthur looks so weird in tights lol

Oh, well I read "The Whipping Boy" when I was little, and I definitely had it in mind while drawing this, lol! I suppose the two relationships are quite similar. There's the difference in status, along with the fact that Merlin does take a lot of heck for Arthur, who had certainly been a bratty prince! XD Be glad, I guess, that Arthur will probably never wear anything close to this in the show, lol! Anyway, thank you for commenting! : ]

You're welcome! Also, another diffrence is that I don't think Arthur would ever allow anyone to put him in that frilly clothing. I can only imagine his reaction... *stares off into space* *begins laughing*

Great picture! It's lovely! I wonder if there actually is an official Merlin colouring book out there? (Sounds like something I would enjoy defacing.) I know there are the annuals and activity books... maybe one day.
