From the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. A totally different experience from the South Side, the tranquility was amazing - dozens of people, all sitting quietly watching the sun go down. When it goes dark, you can see the lights of the village on the South Rim, and it is fascinating to consider all of the people, 10 miles away looking right back at you.Related content

I think I know those peaks. I want to go to the north rim before too long. Last I checked, the road was closed.

It has a lovely composition, which, I think, has really made the msot of the amazing colours and contrast between sunlight and shadow.

amazing what the light of the setting sun does for the colors in this! and i simply love all the layers to the rock. gorgeous. wonderful shape to focus on and the framing of the trees is an excellent finishing touch
