Edit: Submitting a newer version. Fixed some things that were bothering me and added some kind of quasi-background. What do you think? Better? Worse? Don't care? XD--------------------
Decided to make something I could use as part of a portfolio banner (and maybe a business card...?). It pretty much summarizes what I most like to draw: cute girls, futuristic robot stuff, and, um...scarves. :9 I'll add some fancy background elements laterrrrrrr.

Technical question: Your lineart adapts to the color of the different body parts (i.e. pink around the hair, blue around the scarf, black around the obi, etc.) how do you achieve this effect? Do you separate the lineart into several layers, and color them individually, or do you use magic?

Hahaha, I wish I could say there was some kind of clever technique behind this, but, uh, no. XD I started with a single all black lineart layer, ctrl+clicked to select the area, then created different layers and filled in portions of the lines with the appropriate colors. There's probably a much easier way to do this, but I haven't figured it out yet. XD

Master? Hahaha, as if. I'm not good enough to be anyone's master. XD As for the CG, take one part cell shading, one part gradients, and sprinkle liberally with perfectionism and OCD. :9
