feeling your blood
rush through my fingers
staining my shirt
my pants
bathing in what was
you left it all
on my doorstep
i wrapped it up
in a body bag
and buried it
in my backyard
it rests
a headstone
in memory
of how it used to be
i did it
because i meant it
i felt nothing
until it started to hurt
i had no meaning
no purpose
until you left
