You sat on the couch as you listened to Russia bang some pots and pans around in the kitchen. You were about to watch the Russian live action version of Anastasia. It was English dubbed because Russia knew that you couldn't understand much Russian.

Estonia and Lithuania were busy with the duties being a country entailed while Belarus and Ukraine had gone out for the evening. This left you and Latvia to watch a movie with Russia.

"You know," you called, "We don't need popcorn if you don't want any. We could just watch the movie."

"But sunflower said that she liked popcorn so I am going to make her popcorn!" He called back.

You leaned down and whispered to Latvia to lead you to the kitchen. When you walked in, you could hear Russia grunting as he tried to work what you assumed to be a popcorn maker. You had mentioned that you liked popcorn and he couldn't get just microwave popcorn, no. He had to buy a popcorn maker to pour in the kernels and melt the butter. He had already assemble it, but couldn't figure out what to do with it now. Luckily, China kept one for you since you were little.

You walked towards his voice until you bumped into his back.

"Sunflower?"

"Here, let me see that." You felt around the machine and repositioned the top piece which he'd managed to put on upside down. You then asked him to hand you the kernels and poured them in through the top. You put the bowl under place where the popped corn came out and flipped the switch once you found it.

You dusted off your hands and waited for Russia to speak.

"My sunflower is so smart!" He cheered making you smile.

Wait, did he say 'My sunflower'? That made you his sunflower? You were Russia's sunflower?! 'Alright, alright.' You chided yourself. 'Stop freaking out. He probably doesn't even consider me like that. But what... What if he does?! Oooh.' You started blushing.

Russia, of course, responded in a way that only Russia could by picking you up bridal style and sprinting to the couch with the bowl of popcorn he had finished while you were freaking out.

"Whoahwhoawhoa!" You shouted as you kept a death grip on his arm and shoulder. Latvia giggled and ran after you two. He set you in the middle of the couch and took a seat to your right. Latvia was supposed to be on his own side but was more in your lap than anything. Russia started the movie as you munched on popcorn.

Russia had told you that the movie was amazing and you had to agree. Because it was a musical, you didn't need him to explain much about the movie. You loved the gorgeous voices and dramatic lyrics. Russia hummed along with some of the songs, making you 'awww' on the inside.

After forty five minutes it seemed to you that you had your own gravitational field of some sort because Latvia was now fully in your lap and blissfully and asleep and Russia had an arm around you and was resting his head on yours. You wrapped an arm around Latvia and nestled a little closer to Russia. You felt him wrap a second arm around your shoulders as you started to doze off.

Russia's POV

I didn't even want to blink. Here she was, (f/n l/n), in my arms. This couldn't possibly be real. I felt that if I tried to speak or took a breath too deep, that the image would shatter, and I would wake up from nothing more than a long, pleasant dream. Her (h/l) (h/c) hair brushed my cheek as she snuggled a little deeper into my embrace. She seemed glad of my touch. How strange. How odd that after so little time she seemed to trust me so completely.

She had let me lead her around by the hand, let me hold her up as we skated across the ice, and now she was falling asleep in my arms. 'What a beautiful mystery' I thought. She was like a gentle, beautiful sunflower. My sunflower. If she would have me. I looked down as she shifted in her sleep. I traced her eye lids and profile. My hands lingered over her lips.

She smiled in her sleep.

"Ivan." She murmured.

I felt my face heat up, and my heart began pound.

"Da, sunflower?" I asked. Nobody had called me by my human name in so long. I wanted to hear it again. If just one more time from this precious person. And then again and again until the end of time.

"What is it?" I whispered.

As she slept she nuzzled her head into my chest.

"I love you."
