Description From my trip earlier this May, during the second stop over two days. The next day was all spent at Angkor Wat and the surrounding temple ruins. This was for me one of the highlights of the trip, especially intriguing after taking World religions and seeing the mark of history since this was first a Hindu complex, but then later has taken on Buddhist traits, and thus you get that mixture in the architecture of carvings from Hindu myth but then in other places there would be statues of Buddha.
Also I didn't find out until I got home, but this was one of the hottest days of the trip...over a 100 degrees outside. Thank god for sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle, and little kids selling fans for two dollars- they have a good racket going there.

Fantastic point of view. How different from spanish old buildings is this kind of architecture.

It was definitely different from a lot of (mostly western) architecture that I was used to. I can only imagine what it was like in it's heyday. Thanks!
