I know, I hated it too... except that I was one of them. But, then I post the pictures on deviantART, so it's different. The other people keep their pictures to themselves.

I range when it comes to pictures at concerts. I've made an oath never to bring my camera along with me (plus it's broken) and so far all 4 concerts with them I've had no camera and have had an awesome time and memories.
With a camera all your attention is focused on the image on the small screen in front of you and you forget about the real deal possibly just feet away.

When I go to concerts, I'm usually the designated one man camera crew, so I know how to pay attention to both the pictures and the stage. Besides, all I really need to do with the camera is aim in the general direction of the stage and keep clicking. I took over 200 pictures at this concert. Most of them are blurs, but thats because I usually forget the camera, not the band. The concert always comes first, in my opinion.
