First of all, this is amazing. I wouldn't have the patience for this kind of fur. I'll give you points for dedication and patience!
Now, I'll just say a few things that I haven't yet seen others say, I think. The biggest thing I can see is the fur coloring. It looks... painted; unnatural. Fur transitioning is pretty tricky, I'll give you that. However, think of it not as a 2-D painting, but a 3-D cat you can reach out and touch. Fur transitions not very smoothly but roughly with bits of each color flecking either side. It's a bit easier to make, believe it or, on short-furred animals. Look up a cat with extreme coloring (such as a black and white cat) and use that as reference. Or maybe even a furry rug (that sounds wrong, sorry) or stuffed animal. I sometimes look at my own cat, dog or toy for this stuff. Like I said, imagine a picture is 3-D, not 2-D, so every source that you can feel and turn and examine in different lighting and positions, the better. As a side-note, fur is generally shorter on the face than the rest of the body.
The scar was well done as a base, I guess. Scars are wounds that healed poorly and thus have not completely healed, yes? Fur or hair will not grow on it (as you did well to show). However, a scar is like a lighter indention/crease in the skin where something has burned or cut it. The skin of an animal such as a cat or dog usually reflects it's fur only lighter (such as a gray for black cats, pale for white, amber-pink for gold ect.) so next time, if I were you, I'd try to reflect that. Also consider what created that scar. A claw could be deep, yes, but would it not have sister marks beside it? Or, if it was not too deep, then how about disruptions in the scar like where the skin has healed in some places but not others? Or if it was a branch or something or the like, you could make it more ragged. Just some suggestions, you know.
With the ears, making the cuts looks like part of the ear is OK. I wish I could post a link. Erg. Anyway, cat's ears rotate in many ways, but unlike a bat, when they flick their ears, they seem to fold. So if a cat is listening to something behind them, their ears would seem almost flat to their head. If they were listening to something in front of them, or were really focused, then the ears would flick forward and would be upright. Just a bit of advice on cat ears to tag on... as if I didn't talk enough.
I think I've over-written this... dang... well that's just some key-parts (in my opinion) that were looked over by fellow artists and could do a bit of improvement. Keep drawing and keep improving. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

First off, I'm setting everything I don't know how to rate to 3 stars, because I don't understand how to critique it.
Now, first thing I want to point out is the fur technique. I commend you for takin the time to make every single strand! It really is marvelous..
However there is little to no definition of the face. I almost thought it was a dog at first because the only distinguishable thing was the muzzle/nose! I don't think you used a reference for a cat for this, but you should have.
With this fur style it's crucial that you get as close to life-like as possible. The fur direction is.. there is none. I see how you followed the general 'fur goes out from the muzzle' but there isn't much more than that.
media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-s…
Take this picture of a cat for example. See how the 'puffs' or the muzzle are larger and seem closer to the face. The direction of the fur around the muzzle shows it.
Also, fur does not part down the middle of the animals face like that, it flows straight back.
I don't know what happened with the ears, It seems like they're just lumps flowing out from the head instead of ears. I again would go back to the reference picture for it.
Try and vary the lengths and directions of the strokes you use to make fur.
Now onto the coloring situations and the eyes, as well as the scar.
For coloring like that, you want to make sure the the strokes of the fur are completely covering and fuzzing out the hard edge of the marking on the face. it would make it a lot more life like.
As for the eyes, I'd go look at the reference photo. They look more like wolf eyes (and also the nose does too). Cats don't have as much black membrane around the eye. It's more like eyeliner for them.
The scar looks okay I guess. I'd just say, for fur like this, add some shading to it to make it look more like healing flesh.
