I would do the exact same thing. They showed his assasination on 20 most shocking music moments on VH1, and I was sort of tearing up watching it. then they showed one of those horrible ASPCA commercials right after i started crying.

Uhh, lemme just give you a short list of reasons
1. The whole plot is a problem with an easy answer- Bella spends the whole book whining about how she can't be a vampire and be with Edward forever, and Edwards spends the whole time complaining about Bella's safety. If he turned her into a vampire, she'd be happy, and safe.
2. There is no "love" in Twilight, just lust. People don't see each other and fall instantly in love. It dosen't work that way in the real world. Plus, Edward only likes bella b/c he cant read her mind and he wants her blood.
3. Bella is the most annoying, whiny, selfish character in the history of the world. Most of the time, if you have a character who is whiny and annoying, he/she improves and grows as a person as the story continues but Bella doesn't grow. She actually gets worse.
4. EdwardxBella is the most unhealthy couple ever. First of all, there's the whole lust thing I mentioned, and secondly, that whole throwing-yourself-off-cliffs nonsense is just crap. Plus, Bella skipped out on college just so she could get married and bear a child at 18. How retarded is that? What is this, the 1800s?
5. Who the hell names their child Renesme? Poor baby!
6. New Moon is the example by which slutty books are measured by. The whole book is just Bella running from Jacob to Edward and going "ohh, Im in luv with edward, but jacob is soo dreamy and their both telling me to stay away from them, but my smallish brain cant handle the stress and i cant live without edward so now im suicidal oohhhh."
7. Uhh, Edward has absolutely no personality whatsoever. He's quite possibly the most boring "leading man" i have ever had the displeasure to read about.
8. The only reason Twilight is so popular is because a large amount of its fans are airhead teenage girls who wouldnt know a good book if it hit them in the face. (im not saying that you are)
9. The volturi have no purpose. They exist purely so the book would have some sort of villianous character. They are also a desprate attempt to save the book from being a useless pile of drabble.
10. A lot of the books fans are totally hypocritical. When they found out that Robert Pattinson was playing edward, they were all "oohh, hes to scruffy, hes got chest hair we have to stop this oohh," and now they're all "omg, robert pattinson, hes so sexy, i want his babies, omg." (again, not saying that you are)
11. SMeyer killed vampires. Like with a machine gun and chainsaw. I mean, who the hell makes vampires sparkle, seriously? You might as well dress them up in tutus and make them dance ballet.
12. A lot of effers compare twilight to harry potter, which is the most dumbass thing ever. first of all, they're miles apart subject-wise, and second of all, HP is clearly the better book.

nah... i'm cool. for the record though i just use twilight as gifts and dates for the very same airhead teenage girls i date. but now that you mention it this is a pretty good summary of the worst story ever.

And I'm not really sure how we got from Rings to twilight.
