Tears streamed down AppleJacks face as she nuzzled her newborn foal. She was perfect and so beyond cute. Even the little nub of a horn. But not all the tears were from happiness, no, they were from sadness. Who she thought was the love of her life left her just one day ago. Left her and his children. She wasn't sure if she was upset or just furious. If he even bothers to show his face again she swore she would make him regret it.
She licked her newborns head and the tears started to slow. It doesn't matter, she has her children, thats all that matters to her. The suns heat came through the window giving the barn a relaxing feel. The warmth was calming and relaxing. Apple Jack heard the barn door creek open. She looked over to see her son.
"AppleCrust, how are you doing?" She asked
"I miss daddy, when is he coming back?" He responded.
AppleJack sighed. "Hes not my dear, at least im pretty sure he's not. He doesn't want to live here anymore." She said, choosing her words truthfully but carefully.
"Don't he love us?" Apple Crust asked.
"I'm sure he loves you very much! He just...the farm life ain't for him." Apple Jack said putting a smile on her face,
"Farm life not for him?? Ridiculous! " he almost shouted.
"Haha, now now. Its not for everyone. And be more quite my dear."
"Why?" Apple Crust asked. But before his mother could respond he spotted the bundle by Apple Jacks side.
"My little sister!" He almost squealed too loud.
"Yes, her name is ApplePie." She nudged her filly lovingly.
"Daddy may be gone but I can help you! I will do the chores and feed the animals and...?" Apple Crusts thoughts went off to space as he thought of more things.
"Your my little blessing" Apple jack said as she felt her sons hoof go on hers.
Apple crust grinned. "Don't worry, I will do everything! "
Apple Jack laughed to herself. Such a loving colt, she thought. But little did she know that he would be doing most of everything with the help of friends. Considering the sickness she was going to experience.

The day Apple Jack gave birth to Apple Pie and the second day after Trender Hoof left for the city.
Also please note I did this before I redesigned Apple Pie. So her colors are off.
