This little picture was made as a belated birthday gift for a friend of mine, the sweet *Kateasaur , as Spitfire just so happens to be her favorite pony! Unfortunately I found out about her birthday nearly a month after the fact, and didn't have as much time as I would have liked to put into it, but all the same she liked it and that was the only thing that mattered to me! Hugs and such, dear! <3
Immediately after I finished this picture I realized that Spitfire bears an almost uncanny resemblance to what is probably the most generic, official Applejack vector of them all, but of course that only occurred to me after I finished working on it and not during the process, ah well! In any case, I did enjoy myself playing around with pretty colors for the background~

The title makes me think of this as a Fan Art or really a Fan Picture. Spitfire posing for the camera for a fan picture she would hand out to the young ponies.
What would make this picture and even more epic BDay gift would be to have added, "To Kateasour! Happy Birthday (or some other comment) from your number one fan, Spitfire." Done in like a hand writing type look. I don't know. That is my first thoughts when I see this.
Great gift to give someone though. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Ah, well I'm afraid that I'm still not entirely sure what Pewdiepie is, exactly... a younger friend of mine tried to explain him to me before but I'll admit I'm still somewhat confused. Anyhow, though I don't always manage to respond to comments in a timely fashion as you have doubtless noticed, conversation are still welcome by me as well, when I can manage them... in my case nothing much is up with me at the moment, just baking trayfuls of cookies at eleven o'clock at night while responding to my deviantART messages!

Yay cookies!! Yeah he is mainly a video game Youtuber mainly in the horror genre. Many people love him and some think he is not funny and/or just does it for the money. Still think he is one of the best.

Spitfire is a pretty good character, though I must confess I didn't really enjoy her portrayal in the recent Rainbow Dash episode very much (she just felt like an entirely different character to me is all). Ah well though!

This is utterly gorgeous! As every single one of your works are - I must ask, and I do hope I'm not going so far off topic, but might I ask what tools and brushes you use to create these masterpieces?

In answer to your question I tend to use SAI's marker tool almost exclusively for this type of artwork (and certainly, for this one), normally set to bristle for the linework, and spread for all of the coloring. Actually, I think you did a very good job with that picture, and especially considering I've probably been at this for a bit longer than you have (I'm quite a bit older than you, going by your profile at least). I think you did a really great job with the shine on her hair especially!

Thank you very much for the kind comments! Spitfire was one of those pictures where I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the scene before I ever sat down to draw, as opposed to many of my drawings that are the result of aimless sketching. I'm happy you like the way she turned out!

Ah, the female member of the Wonderbolts. Awesome. I gotta say, the Wonderbolts sorta remind me of the Blackhawks from DC Comics mixed with the Thunderbirds, only a bit more pony-fied.
Never the less, she looks good my friend. Great work. Again, here's hoping that in Season 3, we'll see an episode devoted to these flyboy ponies.

I'm afraid I'm not especially familiar with the Blackhawks, or the Thunderbirds really (though at least I recognize the reference the with the latter) but yes, as I've said before I'm hoping we'll see more of Spitfire in the future, as well. To be honest, I hadn't noticed the similarity to the official Applejack vector, but now that you mention it the resemblance is uncanny. However, it's not like Applejack is the only pony allowed to use that position, especially seeing how your drawing is far superior in every way to that rather shoddy vector. Anyway, I like the colors in this piece; such soft and warm clouds with a beautiful sunset to the right. Spitfire's mane looks beautiful as well.

It really is uncanny, and I think it's the strangest thing that I didn't notice it at all while I was working on the picture, but did immediately after finishing it, oh well! As you said the pose shouldn't have to be exclusive to Applejack though, and I just wanted to Spitfire to look relaxed and casual which is why I went with it.
No matter the case though, I am very happy you like the colors and such, thank you for that! The feedback is always appreciated.
