Description Belle from Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Originally this was going to be in a more realistic style, but I liked the look of the simple shading and lines.

Her looks are loosely based on the actress Vivien Leigh [link] I had to look her up for an assignment for my Film class and I thought that she looked a little like Belle.

Also, she isn't wearing her gloves because I thought that the pic looked better without them, there's more contrast against her dress

Wow, this is lovely! And it's funny you should use Vivien Leigh as inspiration, since I hear the original animators had her and Audrey Hepburn in mind when they designed Belle. Good instincts!

I need to work on my people skills.... Drawing ones I mean, though my social ones could probably use some work too.

I think it was a good idea not to add the gloves, but my favourite bit is her hair Also, Belle is my favourite Disney Princess If I was a Disney Princess I would definitely be Belle I think

Yeah, the hair turned out really well, I should try to remember how I did that

Same, she reads a lot of books and talks to inanimate objects, what's not to love!

Been meaning to say something about this for a while--I lvoe the progress with human anatomy that you're showing, especially on the face and the hand coming at the viewer. It's also a nice, lively pose. That said, I think you kill some of that off unnecessarily by cropping her hand. D: Never ever do that if you can avoid it, it takes a lot of flow out of the piece. Basically imagine that all space a 1/4 inch or so away from the edges is OFF LIMITS. Put nothing there, ever. XD Other than that though, Nice texture and swing to the hair. I feel like this Belle is a lot spunkier and generally less irritating than the Disney version.

Thanks for the crit! I changed it and you're right, it does look a lot better with a wider frame.

I have been working a lot on human anatomy, so I'm glad that the improvement is noticeable

Ha ha, yes, as much as I love them Disney princesses are quite bland!
