Old Nettla was supposed to be the surrogate mom to Bambi in the book, old but wise and welcoming. But in film 2 Mena is brought up. Perhaps Mena is Nettla's fawn and the two would have watched over Bambi along side Karus.

Rapo was a stag in Bambi's children who is found shot and bleeding out before Bambi and Faline comfort him in his final moments. It could be he's Ate''s dad but he was killed off before we could get to know him, dying the same day Marena and Karus did.

And finally Rolla. Redubbed godmother to the royal fawns and mate to Ronno but goes by Aunt Rolla as a pet-nickname. Ronno might have failed in fighting Bambi but he beat another stag and pursued Rolla, a doe he met long ago but hadn't seen in ages. The pair managed to mate before Man attacked again where they were both rudely awakened by the sound of a gun. The pair lost each other in the panic despite Ronno trying to keep up. Sadly his injuries from his previous fights slowed him down. The last words Rolla heard from Ronno was "I'm right behind you, keep going!" before he was shot dead and Rolla had to escape the forest fire alone.

She reunited with her friend Faline who was also waiting for her mate, but unlike Ronno, Bambi indeed emerged from the smoke.

Rolla had her fawns, Boso and Lana, not long after Faline did where the pair would meet up for their fawns to play. Rolla didn't want to come off as jealous, but she felt her heart ache knowing Faline had someone to come home to. During the next Man attack, Rolla became separated from her fawns and was shot in the flank. She survived but it slowed her down terribly while she kept searching. But the attack was far from over when the dreaded hunter's wolf dog ambushed them and was chasing Rolla. Out of desperation she jumped into some bushes not knowing that was where her and Faline's fawns were hiding and the wolf dog began chasing Geno. The pair quickly became lost in the woods leaving Faline to jump to conclusions and accused Rolla of leading the wolf dog to her son. She didn't know, but Faline out of motherly anger and fear for her missing son refused to listen. For years Rolla and her fawns weren't allowed to speak to Faline or her fawns.

But things were rekindled over the union between their grown up children later.
