Description Dory, from Finding Nemo, in color pastels on dark cadet-blue heavyweight construction paper.

The white paper didn't work for me. When I did the 4-foot-long Dory graphic for my mother's bulletin board display, I cut out a large piece of blue bulletin paper and drew it out on that. It was a lot easier to use a background paper that was already blue, since blue is the most abundant color on Dory.

Doing highlights with light blue chalk was also a lot easier than trying to leave lighter-colored spots when shading with dark blue chalk.

Awesome colour! I love the medium you decided to use! It looks just like the real character, but blurred. Amazing!

I realize now that if I had made the black part of her eyes a little larger, you could see them better against the white part... and she wouldn't look like she was staring at a bright light. Something to remember.
