I still don't have a name for this fanfic. Sad.

One of the main characters, Tim the triggerfish, can basically change himself or another creature into whatever other creature he wants as long as either he or his "victim" had come into physical contact with such creature at least once. During the last part of the story, Tim and Dory are helping a number of other fish escape from a fish tank a few miles inland in Sydney. In getting there, Tim knew all the species he and Dory would have to be in order to get to Sydney quickly, as well as to actually travel on land in order to reach the place where the fish are being help captive. In getting back, Tim has to rely on whatever creatures Dory had touched that could carry the fish out of the tank, all the way to the harbor, and all the way back to the reef.

Dory is transformed into a pelican for carrying some of the fish to the harbor. Tim transfers the pelican form from touching her and is able to carry the rest of the fish. When they get to the harbor, Tim is too weak to carry on in another form, so he transforms Dory into a whale so that she could carry everyone back home.
