Not the final cover. The final has her with a much more red skintone (since she's from mars)and I dont care to hear about how she shouldn't have a navel, it's an obvious aesthetic choice.
So, this piece was something Scott had done and put in his sketchbook, and Dynamite is putting out Warlord of Mars as a comicbook.

The only thing I have to say about this is that Dejah Thoris is red. I've read the book several times and thats the only thing I find wrong with your interpretation of the character.

Wow, this is fantastic cover page. 
Your coloring work adds such a nice atmosphere to the already fantastic line art. I really like the super-glittery gold jewelry.
Please don't torch me for adding my 2cents worth of critique anyway. 
At first glance the piece struck me as a bit confusing... I guess that's mainly because of the title's coloring - this could need more of your super-glittery gold! 
As a matter of personal taste I would have liked the princess (or so) to form a stronger focal point, e.g. she could have slightly brighter skin or alternatively a slightly more shaded/darker background (mutant tiger, curtains and decoration paraphernilia). Well, sex sells - and the additional contrast could have made her beautiful curves pop out a little more.

Do you like starting with a dark base or a light base? I am trying to learn how to color and I don't know if it is better to start with the darks or the lights first. I started with a flat dark colors first, than tried starting with light colors. Does it even make a difference? AAAAAGH!
