this is quite literally the first time i've drawn jthm in years.funny it would be subtle vargas fanart. (i'm reading it again because it's updated since 2007, go figure.)
anyway this is kind of bad and i probably won't be drawing it again any time soon, or ever, so there you go.

dude i wanted to say thank you a billion times. i recently had gotten back into jthm and i found your fanart. so i was parusing your gallery like a creep and i saw all your awesome fanart for homestuck. and so i was like 'hey i should probably read that, ive been meaning to and i totally forgot!'

I like the difference in facial structure, the little lines to help shade, and especially, how you've drawn their hair. It's been awhile since I've seen these two revamped.

I like your style. There's a lot of detail, and it's still cartoon-ish. The hair, in particular, fascinates me.
(What's weird is that 2007 was about the time I got into JTHM for the first time, and I had this completely false notion that Vargas was a properly running story. Oh, such sadness.)

I only ever read the Director's Cut, though, so I have no idea who the other character is. I think I need to fix that.

I know Devi and Mmy, and Squee, and those are really the only other recurring characters in the Director's Cut, I think.

The other character is Edgar Vargas , a character best known for a) being probably the only person Johnny kills out of pure need and b) being the fandom's favorite character for pretty much that exact reason.
The facial scarring he has in this picture is a reference to Vargas, a novel-length (and unfinished) piece of JTHM fanfiction that takes place in an alternate universe where Nny spares Edgar.

"anyway this is kind of bad" NOPE! I think you rendered them with just the right amount of f'd up (in Johnny's case at least) and originality. I remember back like 6 to 9 years ago? Being in the midst of kids riding in on the coattails of the Invader Zim.. pretty much if didn't look (baaadly) ripped from the pages of the comic itself it was some strange fandom crossovers. But then there came golden rays of awesome down from the heavens when honest talent decided JtHM needed a little love. This is easily one of those gems, please do not convince yourself otherwise. <3
